Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Thursday offered to conduct talks with the Andhra Pradesh government to sort out contentious issues between the two States.
Speaking to media persons at the Secretariat Media Point, Rao made it clear that the Telangana government was not against Andhra Pradesh, and therefore all contentious issues including power, irrigation and water could be sorted through talks.
However, he accused Naidu of trying to create a villainous image of the TRS government through provocative statements and actions. He alleged that Naidu was jealous of the fact that the TRS government was fulfilling the promises it had made to the people of Telangana.
Rao said that Naidu's statements were aimed at wooing investments to Andhra Pradesh. However, he said that Naidu was wrongly targeting the Telangana government to achieve his goals.
He also accused Naidu of cheating the people of Andhra Pradesh over the issue of the merger of the 7 mandals of Khammam district due to the Polavaram Project. (INN)
