Minister for Health T Harish Rao on Saturday launched facilities for 134 more diagnostic tests in T-Diagnostics across Telangana.
The minister launched the facility virtually from the Kondapur Government Hospital, Hyderabad.
Speaking on the occasion, Rao said that these 134 tests would be done free of cost through T-Diagnostics, and that there was no such facility anywhere else in the country.
He added that the T-Diagnostics centres and radiology centres had become available in 31 districts of the State, and that works were going on in the two other districts, too, and would be completed soon.
The minister also said the central lab in Hyderabad had obtained the prestigious NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories) certificate, and that 13 district labs had achieved NABL Primary Accreditation, underscoring the excellence of Telangana's diagnostic facilities.
Claiming that the State government was committed to providing free tests, treatment and medicines to the State's people, Rao said that the government had invested Rs 4.39 crore in setting up each radiology and pathology hub. Additionally, an expenditure of Rs 1.70 crore per hub would be incurred for offering these 134 tests, bringing the total cost per hub to Rs 6.09 crore, he said.
The minister also extended his best wishes to doctors on the occasion of Doctors' Day.
