Harish Rao Asks Government To Pay Diagnostic Centre Staff Salaries
The MLA and former minister responded to news reports about the poor management of Telangana's free diagnostic centres and the pending salaries of their staff.
MLA and former minister Harish Rao today responded to news reports about the management of Telangana's free diagnostic centres and the pending salaries of their staff.
"It is sad that within just five months the Congress government has demolished the Telangana diagnostic system which was started during the BRS regime to provide free medical tests to the people of the State. KCR set up 36 diagnostic centres across the State, making available 134 types of medical tests in them and making Telangana a role model for the country in medical services. The diagnostic centres, which provided quality medical tests to lakhs of poor people without any financial burden, are now reeling under a lack of maintenance. The staff have not even been able to get their salaries for six months. This is a testimony to the Congress government's indifferent attitude towards public health," he alleged.
He made these remarks on his official Twitter handle.
Rao asked the government to respond at least now and pay the pending salaries for the last six months of the doctors and staff working at the centres immediately. He also demanded that the government take steps to ensure that all the offered tests and medical services were made available to the public through the centres.
