Handlooms & Textiles Minister P Shankar Rao on Sunday alleged that the police personnel deputed for his security were spying on him.

Issuing a clarification on why he rejected the additional security provided by the government, Shankar Rao alleged that the security personnel appointed were keeping a close watch on all his movements.

Shankar Rao was addressing media persons after distributing 310 blankets (that he sponsored himself) costing Rs. 56,730 to elders, at Sevasram in Bansilalpet, to mark Gandhi Jayanthi.

He alleged that the additional security forces, which he had sought, were tapping his phones and closely observing his every movement.

"The security forces were sending information on my every moment to the Governor, the Chief Minister and other officials," he alleged.

Appealing to government to remove the additional security forces, he said that he was considering hiring a private agency to take care of his security.
