Some officials of the State Bank of India, Barkas branch, are allegedly creating problems for the selected Haj pilgrims by not accepting their payments.
While the challan issued by the Haj Committee of India is sufficient for the pilgrims to make the deposits, the officials at the SBI's Barkas branch are insisting that the pilgrims get other documents including their passports, which have already been submitted to the State Haj Committee.
A selected Haj pilgrim disclosed that the challan issued by the HCI contains all the details, especially the pilgrims' 'Cover Number'.
"However, instead of going by the routine procedure, the bank officials are creating problems for the selected Haj pilgrims," a pilgrim alleged. (INN)
