Haj Registration Before April 30th
Syed Khaleeluddin Ahmed, Chairman of the State Haj Committee, announced that the HCOI will issue Haj registration forms starting March 16th, 2011.
Hyderabad | 1st March 2011
The Andhra Pradesh State Haj Committee will issue Haj registration forms starting March 16th, 2011, and will accept duly filled-in forms till April 30th, 2011.
Chairman of the State Haj Committee Syed Khaleeluddin Ahmed, who returned to the city on Monday after attending a meeting convened by the Haj Committee of India (HCOI) held recently in New Delhi, issued a statement that only valid passport-holders will be allowed to apply for the Haj pilgrimage.
Khaleeluddin said that the intending pilgrims should apply for 'international passport' to avoid disappointment. He further said, "As per the decision of the Haj Committee meeting, only valid passport-holders will qualify for Qurrah (choosing by lot)."
The Chairman appealed to the intending pilgrims to submit a copy of their passport, or the receipt of the application for the same.
The present 2-form system, consisting of one form for Qurrah and another for Haj, will be replaced by a single application form that will be considered both for Qurrah and Haj, Khaleeluddin Ahmed added.
Each applicant will have to give 2 mobile numbers that shall be kept valid till the end of Haj. This is to enable the HCOI to inform the pilgrims about the latest developments and the status of their Haj applications, by SMS.
The pilgrims will also be required to submit a photocopy of a cancelled cheque in case of any failed payment to the Haj committee. This measure enables HCOI to issue refunds faster, if any, to the intending Haj pilgrim, the Chairman added. The Haji's account will be directly credited instead of paying through cheque, he elaborated.
Khaleeluddin further said that even this year, there will be 3 categories of pilgrimage packages (Green, White and Azeezia), as in the past.
