Claiming that leaders from other political parties were joining the TRS on seeing the monumental development in the State on its watch, TRS supremo and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today confidently said that the Party would retain power in the 2019 general elections despite the destabilizing conspiracies being hatched by the TDP and the Congress.
"We will complete all the irrigation projects and other schemes by 2019, and will retain power confortably," he said.
KCR welcomed into his Party the Congress MP Gutha Sukender Reddy, former MP G Vivekanand and his brother G Vinod, MLAs Ravindra Naik of the CPI and Bhaskar Rao of the Congress, J Narsing Rao, ZPTC leaders, MPTC leaders and other leaders from various districts at Telangana Bhavan.
He took serious exception to his Andhra Pradesh counterpart Chandrababu Naidu's talk of reuniting the two Telugu States, and claim that the TDP would come to power in Telangana in the 2019 elections. He ridiculed Naidu for even suggesting that the two Telugu States would be reunited akin to East Germany and West Germany.
He also exhorted the politicians and the people to be wary of conspiracies by the Opposition parties carrying out malicious campaigns to dethrone him and get President's Rule imposed in the State.
"It is sensing such conspiracies that MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi extended his Party's support to our government. And we are fully capable of developing our own State," he said.
KCR also slammed Congress leaders including K Jana Reddy for implying that defections were acceptable during the YSR regime but not now. He said that the people of the State would be the bosses when the TRS was in power, and that the political stability the TRS accorded would pave the way for persistent growth to eradicate poverty and create a golden Telangana.
