Congress Slogging To Stop MLAs From Defecting
The Party is persuading Nalgonda MP Gutha Sukender Reddy, former MP G Vivek, former minister G Vinod and Miryalaguda MLA Bhaskara Rao to stick with it.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy has held deliberations with the senior leaders who are reportedly contemplating joining the TRS soon.
Speaking to the media on Friday, TPCC vice-president Mallu Ravi said that Reddy was persuading Nalgonda MP Gutha Sukender Reddy, former MP G Vivek, former minister G Vinod and Miryalaguda MLA Bhaskara Rao to remain in the Congress.
In some respite for Uttam Kumar Reddy, former Speaker K R Suresh Reddy confirmed that he would not join the TRS. He said that there was no truth in the reports that he had met with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in the latter's farmhouse - he said that he had in fact never met KCR at all after the latter became the Chief Minister of Telangana.
"My family has been with the Congress for 100 years now, and I will continue in the Congress only," he said, adding that he would strive to strengthen the Party.
