Governor E S L Narsimhan, on Sunday, assured farmers of the State not to panic over any failure of crops since the government would come to their rescue.
Talking to farmers on a visit to groundnut fields in Madakasira village in Anantapur district, Narasimhan said that the various crop insurance schemes launched by the government would help in providing solace to farmers.
A memorandum was submitted to the Governor by workers of Renuka Sugar Factory, who had been protesting for the fulfillment of their various demands. The workers beseeched Narasimhan to direct concerned officials to give a positive response to their demands.
Narasimhan had earlier travelled by road to Seva Mandir near Hindupur.
