Governor E S L Narasimhan, on Thursday, approved the CM's proposal to discharge P Shankar Rao from his Cabinet.
In a press statement, the Information & Public Relations Department released the Governor's approval for the CM's proposal to dismiss Shankar Rao, and for the CM to look after the Handlooms & Textiles portfolios until an alternate minister is appointed.
Meanwhile, Shankar Rao, on Thursday, denied having received any official communication regarding his removal from the state Cabinet.
Talking to media persons, he said that he did not receive any communication requesting his resignation, nor any official communication from the Raj Bhavan, in this regard.
However, Shankar Rao stated that the Chief Minister was angry with him for launching the anti-corruption campaign against YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy. Nevertheless, he firmly stated that he will continue his fight against corruption.
The former minister also stated that he will continue his fight against Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, her son Karthik Reddy, and L B Nagar MLA Sudhir Reddy, who, he alleged, were responsible for last month's attack on him. (INN)
