Governor Dr Tamilsai Soundararajan on Wednesday accepted the resignations of TSPSC Chairman B Janardhan Reddy and other three members - R Satyanarayana, Bandi Linga Reddy and Karam Ravinder Reddy - of the commission.
With this, the line has been cleared for the appointment of a new Chairman and members for the commission.
The Press Secretary of the Governor also refuted speculations that the Governor has delayed the acceptance of the resignations.
Upon receiving the resignations, as per the Business Rules, the Governor had promptly forwarded the resignations to the State government for circulation of the file through the Chief Minister, seeking the remarks and the opinion of the Advocate General too, he said.
The ongoing investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) too is said to have played a role in the decision-making process.
The State government reviewed the resignations and obtained the opinion of the Advocate General, and circulated the file to the Governor through the Chief Minister on January 9 recommending acceptance of all four resignations.
The Governor then accepted all four resignations on January 10 without prejudice to the ongoing investigations and any potential future criminal proceedings, the Press Secretary said.
The Raj Bhavan assured all the people of the State in general and the unemployed youth in particular that every precaution had been taken to safeguard the interests of the unemployed youth in this process.
"The Governor remains committed to upholding the mandates of the Constitution, the principles of justice, transparency and accountability, and this decision reflects the responsible handling of a matter that involves ongoing investigations. The entire process of acceptance of resignations was completed in one day with utmost diligence and in adherence to legal procedures," the Press Secretary said.
