Government Shows Opposition In Poor Light: TDP
Narasimhulu said that although all opposition parties have unanimously resolved to support the Bill, the government gave an impression that they were against it.
Telugu Desam Party MLA Motkupalli Narasimhulu on Tuesday accused the Congress government of trying to project the opposition parties in a poor light with regard to the SC/ST Sub-Plan Bill.
Speaking to media persons at the Telugu Desam Legislature Party office here, Narasimhulu said that although all opposition parties have unanimously resolved to support the Bill, the government gave an impression that they were against it. He said that when the opposition members wanted some clarifications on the Bill, the government imposed voting which could have led the people to believe that the opposition parties voted against the Bill.
Suspecting the government's commitment over the implementation of Bill, Narasimhulu alleged that the Congress government has adopted a non-serious approach right from the beginning. He said that the government had failed to table the recommendations of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on the Sub-Plan to cover up the fact that it has rejected several crucial recommendations.
The TDP leader also demanded the resignation of TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao and Medak MP Vijayashanti for their failure in raising the Telangana issue in the Parliament. He said that although wide publicity had been given to KCR's Delhi visit, he had failed to raise the statehood issue at the Centre. Narasimhulu also demanded that the Centre convene an all party meeting on the Telangana issue. (INN)
