Minister for Civil Supplies Gangula Kamalakar today said that the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) was a constitutional body, and that the State government played no role in its functioning.
Speaking at a press conference, Kamalakar along with MLCs Bhanu Prasad and L Ramana said that the Opposition parties were trying to politicise the TSPSC question paper leak, and were playing with the lives of youth by terrorising them with false allegations against the government.
"The State government immediately responded to the leak and constituted a Special Investigation Team to nab the culprits on March 12. How can minister K T Rama Rao be held responsible for the leak when two unethical persons have committed the crime? The leak is no way related to K T Rama Rao's peshi, and it is ridiculous to ask for the resignation of KTR," Kamalakar said.
The minister also alleged that there were differences between Congress leaders Revanth Reddy and Bhatti Vikramarka, and that they were both competing to be on the news headlines by levelling baseless remarks against the State government.
He added that it was a common practice for question papers to leak in Congress- and BJP-ruled States, and that there were a number of such incidents that had taken place over the decades.
