Chanting hymns and Vedic mantras, noted seers and priests blessed the couple with a traditional sprinkling of waters on their heads.

Later, the priests, with the participation of the Chief Minister, performed the traditional puja, which was followed by a cultural program praising the presiding deities.
This year's pushkaralu are considered "maha pushkaralu" as they comprise an auspicious occasion that comes once in 144 years as per astronomy.
KCR also announced a pylon of developmental programs of the government on the occasion.
The state government is making fool-proof arrangements for the event which is happening for the first time after the formation of Telangana, by spending about Rs 600 crores to provide good facilities to the devotees.
