Rebutting critics alleging that he had transformed the Statue of Equality into a centre of politics, noted seer Chinna Jeeyar Swamy today said that there would not be politics where God was concerned.
Speaking to media persons on Friday, the swamy thanked the media for giving wide coverage to the Sri Ramanujacharya millennium celebrations and the installation of 108 temples at his Muchintal-based ashram.
He said that a Santhi Kalyanam would be held on Saturday evening, and that elaborate arrangements had been made for the telecast of the proceedings of the event.
He said that all those who took part in the celebrations during the last 13 days were invited to the event.
He also said that devotees would be allowed to view the statue of equality between 4 pm and 7 pm every day.
Commenting on the collection of entry fee from the devotees, the swamy said that the ashram had fixed the entry fee of Rs. 150 to carry out the maintenance works necessary, and that there would be changes in the entry fee in the future.
Talking about news reports that said that he had developed differences with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, he asserted that he did not have any differences with the CM, and that KCR had extended his complete support for the successful conduct of the millennium celebrations.
He added that KCR had in fact become the first volunteer of the ashram after his visit to the ashram, and that the CM had also been invited for the Santhi Kalyanam.
He claimed that the ashram or he did not have any differences with any political party or politician.
