BJP leader and former MLA Babu Mohan today demanded that the TRS-led state government provide three acres of land to all the eligible Dalit families of Telangana instead of extending aid of Rs 10 lakh to them.
Speaking to the media at the BJP office in Hyderabad, he claimed that "real justice" would be done to the Dalits only if the government distributed the three acres of land it had promised to give each Dalit household.
Mohan also demanded that the KCR regime provide Rs 10 lakh to all the eligible Dalits across the state, and not just to the Dalits of Huzurabad, hinting that the government had extended the aid to the Dalit community in the constituency just to benefit in the upcoming by-election.
Demanding that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao reveal the money spent by his government on Dalit welfare over the last seven years, the actor-turned-politician claimed that KCR had come up with the Dalit Bandhu scheme as he was scared of losing the by-election.
He added that there was no scope for the development of any constituencies in Telangana unless there was a by-election that needed to be won in the region. Mockingly, he added that he was happy to see KCR "developing love and concern for the Dalit community after his seven-year rule".
The leader then claimed that KCR's main objective was to "end the lives of the Dalits" instead of helping them and alleged that the CM had "retracted" from his promise of not diverting the funds allocated for SC and ST welfare.
