GHMC Commissioner M T Krishna Babu, on Monday, announced that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation was dedicated to implement the citizen charter as per the directions of the government.
The Commissioner said that the Citizen Charter in the limits of GHMC had come in to force from June 19, 2013.
The charter mandates all authorities to maintain transparency while resolving the public's grievances.
Krishna Babu also said that the GHMC has already opened 24 /7 call centres to receive the public's grievances pertaining to various civic issues and the grievances are being disposed in a proper manner.
The Commissioner further stated that GHMC is conducting a training programme for all the HODs, Additional Commissioners, Zonal Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, AMOHs, Assistant City Planners and Superintendent Engineers.
He further informed that Circle-level training programmes about Citizen Charter will be conducted for creating awareness among the field-level functionaries.
Krishna Babu said that any negligent attitude that officials may show towards the implementation of the citizen charter will be viewed very seriously, and fines will also be imposed on the individual officers. (INN)
