The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is planning to develop the Jalagam Vengala Rao Park situated on Road No 1 of Banjara Hills.
The Jalagam Vengala Rao Park was established a few years ago on 10 acres of the Anugu Kunta land. It also has a boating facility although its water has gotten polluted. GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer Somesh Kumar said steps would be taken to clean the water at a cost of Rs 90 lakhs, which include Rs 65 lakhs from the HMWSSB funds. The existing trees and plants of various specious will not be disturbed.
The biodiversity officials are planning to provide all basic amenities to the morning walkers and also supply sports material to the children who are regularly visiting this park.
Somesh Kumar said that a beautiful fountain would be installed in the park with modernized lightings.
He directed the engineering and biodiversity officials to submit the designs by involving a private consultancy firm. (INN)
