Top Arrangements For Metropolis Congress

GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar on Saturday informed that the GHMC had made elaborate arrangements for the XI Metropolis Congress, which will be inaugurated by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu on October at the HICC.
The conference, which will continue till October 19, will also be attended by President of India Dr Pranab Mukherjee on 9th October, and the Mayor of Johannesburg, who is also the co-President of Metropolis.
The Commissioner said almost all works on 125 kilometers of roads had been completed, and minor works would be over in a day or two.
New welcome arches enroute the venue of the conference were being erected so as to improve the brand image of Hyderabad, he added.
He said that the GHMC was concentrating more on permanent works as they would be assets for the corporation in the form of tourist destinations.
Somesh Kumar said that in coordination with the Cyberabad Commissioner of Police C V Anand, all traffic junctions had been identified on the route, and elaborate arrangements had been made to ease traffic congestion and ensure easy flow of traffic both for the convenience of the citizens and for the visiting delegates.
Anand informed media personnel that all arrangements with regard to security and traffic had been made for the event.
A special police force had been deployed for taking proper care of the visiting delegates during their stay in Hyderabad. (INN)
