Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner and Special Officer Somesh Kumar on Thursday held a review meeting with the District Collectors of Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy on the progress of the land regularization scheme, identification of eligible allottees for the housing scheme and land acquisition for the Metro Rail project.
Somessh Kumar informed that so far 213,707 applications had been received under the land regularization scheme. Of them, 150,000 were from the Ranga Reddy district and 63,707 applications were from the Hyderabad district.
To verify these applications, 111 teams, including 69 for Ranga Reddy, had been formed.
For verification of the land regularization applications, town planning officials would be drafted so that they would be able to identify well in advance government lands, parks, nalas, public utilization places, grave yards etc. while clearing the land regularization applications to avoid any consequences.
The Special Officer also asked the Collectors of the Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad districts to speed up the work in identifying eligible members for the allotment of the remaining 19,400 of the 36,404 houses, and also instructed them to acquire lands for the Metro Rail project which were still pending.
GHMC Additional Commissioner Gourav Uppal, Chief City Planner Devender Reddy and other senior officials participated in the review meeting. (INN)
