The officials of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, on Monday, inspected restaurants and tiffin centres, and imposed penalties for unhygienic conditions of kitchens. They also imposed fines on places that used plastic thinner than the standard thickness of 40 microns for food packaging.
A fine of Rs. 10,000 each was imposed on Bawarchi Hotel at Deepti Sai Nagar, Kakatiya Kababs at Miyapur, Times Tiffins, and on Hyderabad Restaurants at Madhapur.
A fine of Rs. 5,000 was imposed on Akshaya Tiffins at Miyapur.
The managements of these hotels have been instructed to rectify the defects found during inspection within one week.
The GHMC has requested the eating establishments to keep their sanitary conditions up to the mark. (INN)
