GHMC Polls: One Hyderabad Alliance's Seat-Sharing
It was decided that Loksatta Party would contest 35 seats, the CPI(M) 33, the CPI 22 and the MCPI 2 seats.
Hyderabad | 14th January 2016
The One Hyderabad Alliance for Clean Politics announced that the seat-sharing negotiations between the Loksatta Party, the CPI(M) and the CPI had concluded successfully.
It was decided that Loksatta Party would contest 35 seats, the CPI(M) 33, the CPI 22 and the MCPI 2 seats.
Some more seats will be contested by the Alliance, and several other organizations, including the Most Backward Class JAC and Colony welfare associations, would be joining and contesting a few seats.
The One Hyderabad Alliance claims to be based on clean politics, and a compelling agenda for Hyderabad outlined in its Common Minimum Program. The seat-sharing negotiations themselves were entirely centered around what was best for the people of Hyderabad, and based on the candidate and Party strength in a ward in a spirit of give and take, with no other criteria.
Addressing mediapersons on Thursday, the Alliance partners said that One Hyderabad was the best option for the people of Hyderabad given the rotten and decrepit politics of the TRS-MIM, TDP-BJP and Congress. These parties also had no relevance or standing in the eyes of the youth of Hyderabad as they were clueless about young people's attitudes and aspirations, mired as they were in retrograde politicking, they claimed.
