Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay Kumar today denounced the State Election Commission (SEC), accusing it of failing to conduct the GHMC elections properly.
Kumar alleged that the election had been mishandled due to the negligence and inefficiency of the election officials.
He also claimed that the dismal voter turnout was the result of a conspiracy by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to restrict voting, to help the TRS.
He added that the CM and the TRS were in cahoots with both the SEC and the police, and had indulged in practices that violated the election code of conduct.
The BJP leader even accused the police of having distributed money on behalf of the ruling party ahead of the elections, and demanded that action be taken against DGP Mahender Reddy for his involvement with the TRS.
