GHMC Commissioner Denies Being At War With Mayor

Somesh Kumar claimed he could not meet Mayor Majid Hussain for a while due to Ramzan and other holidays. However, he was in touch over the phone, he claimed.

GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar on Saturday dismissed reports of him being in a cold war with Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain.

Speaking to media persons, the Commissioner claimed that he could not meet the Mayor for a while due to Ramzan and other holidays. However, he was in touch with the Mayor over the phone, he claimed.

He said that he had never had any differences with the Mayor on any issue, and that he had met the Mayor on Saturday and discussed various issues.

The Commissioner also informed that elaborate arrangements were being made for the Metropolis Conference to be hosted by the GHMC.

He briefed the media about the steps being taken to eradicate the beggars' menace from the city, and also the drive to plant 16 lakh trees in the GHMC limits. (INN)
