The party alleged that Somesh Kumar had failed to perform his duties as the head of the corporation, and was spending most of his time praising KCR.

The Leader of the Opposition in the Telangana Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir accused GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer Somesh Kumar of working in favour of the TRS.
Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday, Shabbir Ali alleged that Somesh Kumar had failed to perform his duties as the head of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, and was spending most of his time praising Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
He advised the GHMC chief to quit from the post and join the TRS if he was so impressed with the vision of KCR.
Shabbir Ali said that the Congress had received a tremendous response to its constituency-wise review meetings that it had started in view of the upcoming GHMC elections.
He said that the youth and the women were totally disgusted with the TRS Government. While the youth were sad over the delay in the recruitment process, the women felt that they had lost their importance in the TRS dispensation, which gave no representation to women in the cabinet.
Shabbir Ali said that the Congress would explain to the people the achievements of the previous Congress regime which spent over Rs 1 lakh crores to develop Hyderabad.
He also alleged that in view of the GHMC elections, KCR was trying to get friendly with settlers. The Chief Minister was holding meetings with different organisations and film personalities, and making new promises. "KCR is a habitual liar and forgets what he said about a particular thing in the recent past," he added.
Pointing out that the Congress had a strong base in Greater Hyderabad, he said in the 2009 GHMC elections it had won 52 seats and stood second in 54 other seats.
He said that this time, the anti-incumbency factor against the TRS-MIM and TDP-BJP combines would ensure the victory of the Congress in the next GHMC elections. (NSS)
