Leader of the Opposition in the Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir claimed Hyderabad was yet to see any development despite the TRS party bagging 99 of the 150 wards in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections.
Recalling the TRS' promises in its manifesto during GHMC polls last year, Shabbir Ali demanded that the State government release a white paper on the status quo in the urban local body.
"Things have gone from bad to worse in the State capital due to inefficiency, corruption, and nepotism," Shabbir Ali alleged.
Addressing the media at the CLP office along with former Minister Danam Nagender, the Leader of the Opposition alleged that Hyderabadis were hoodwinked in the name of the Free Double Bedroom Housing scheme. He also alleged that the GHMC had not yet taken up any road repair works in the city.
He contended that majority of the urban infrastructure visible in Hyderabad and GHMC area was actually developed by the previous Congress government, including the International Airport, Outer Ring Road, flyovers, Metro Rail, formation of GHMC and drinking water projects, and so on.
