GHMC Canteen Closed Down For Being Unhygienic

The canteen within the GHMC headquarters gets closed down after officials deem it to be unhygienic.

GHMC Additional Commissioner (Health and Sanitation) L Vandan Kumar, on Friday, ordered the immediate closure of the canteen in the GHMC headquarters at Tank Bund.

Vandan Kumar, along with his team, conducted a surprise visit to the canteen and found that it was unhygienic. After asking the officials to send the food samples for testing, he ordered the immediate closure of the canteen.

Later, he also raided a pan shop in the GHMC headquarters premises and seized cigarettes and gutkha packets. He was surprised that despite a ban, those items were openly sold within the GHMC headquarters. (INN)
