GHMC All Set For Job Mela On Tuesday
The GHMC has received 2,407 applications from SCC-passed candidates, 818 from intermediate-passouts and graduates, and 590 from those who completed professional courses.

Elaborate arrangements have been made for the second Mega Job Mela being organised by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation at Banjara Function Hall on Road No.12 at Banjara Hills on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, GHMC Mayor Mohammad Majid Hussain disclosed that the online registration for the job mela had received tremendous response with over 12,000 candidates applying for various posts, adding that as many as 5,556 applications had been received for jobs in the Information Technology sector alone. Therefore, he said that the GHMC has decided to conduct a Special IT Job Mela in the month of January next year for these candidates. He asked these applicants not to attend Tuesday's Job Mela, and that they would be intimated about the next job fair through SMS.
The GHMC Mayor said that nearly 50 companies would be offering about 4,000 jobs to eligible candidates. Through online registration, the GHMC has received 2,407 applications from SCC-passed candidates, 818 from intermediate-passouts and graduates, and 590 applications from those who completed professional courses. Based on the qualifications, these candidates have been divided into three categories. Further, nearly 3,000 other candidates are expected to participate in walk-in-interviews. The companies are expected to offer salaries ranging from Rs 8,000 to Rs 18,000 to these candidates depending upon their talent, and they would have a mandatory probationary period of six months to one year.
The Mega Job Mela, to be held from 8am to 5pm, will be inaugurated by the GHMC Mayor himself. Besides others, arrangements have also been made for a medical camp, ambulance and fire tenders for any emergencies.
Informing about the last Job Mela conducted by the GHMC in the Old City, Majid Hussain said that of 4,500 applicants, 2,200 attended the interviews and of them 1,198 were selected by different companies.
