Gellu Srinivas Yadav Plants Sapling On Birthday

The TRS candidate for the upcoming Huzurabad by-election, Gellu Srinivas Yadav, today participated in the Green India Challenge, which is aimed at increasing Telangana's green cover, and planted a sapling in Hyderabad on the occasion of his birthday.

TRS MP Joginipally Santosh Kumar, who is spearheading the movement, expressed his appreciation for Yadav on the occasion.

Meanwhile, former Union Minister and noted Telugu actor K Chiranjeevi also did his bit to promote the plantation program and appealed to his huge fan base to plant saplings to mark his birthday on August 22.

In his appeal, Chiranjeevi said that Green India Challenge program was important since it was aimed at expanding the green cover of the state to address the rising pollution levels and create a healthy environment.

This promoted Kumar to thank the actor for taking the movement forward.

The MP himself also appealed to the fans of the actor to participate in the program, and added "Chiranjeevi has always supported environmental causes. I hope he continues to do so and that he also continues to serve the film industry and enthral moviegoers everywhere."

Many prominent faces have participated in the massively successful plantation drive so far. Some days ago, Telugu heartthrob Akkineni Nagarjuna and veteran Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan too had planted saplings at the Ramoji Film City as part of the program.
