The Chikkadpally police today filed a case against former minister and senior Congress leader D Sridhar Babu under the Drugs Control Act.
TRS leader from Mahamutharam in Karimnagar district Kishan Reddy lodged a complaint against Sridhar Babu alleging that the latter had tried to fix him in a ganja case in collusion with a former sarpanch, Sudharshan.
Kishan Reddy also released an audio recording of the conversation between Sridhar Babu and the former sarpanch.
He said that there was a dispute over a 9-acre plot of land in Odhedu village between Sridhar Babu, Sudharshan and himself. In this connection, Sridhar Babu and Sudharshan had hatched a conspiracy to fix Kishan Reddy in a ganja case.
The duo plotted to lodge a complaint with the police against Kishan Reddy after first planting the ganja in Kishan Reddy's animal hut, and procured some ganja with the help of one Bhargav. Reddy said that while they were discussing all this, he recorded the conversation between them, and submitted it to the police, lodging a complaint.
The police analyzed the conversation and traced the locations that the two persons were at when they spoke over their cellphones. The police learnt that Sridhar Babu spoke from Domalguda, and hence filed a case in the Chikkadpally police station as Domalguda comes under its jurisdiction.
Central Zone DCP Joel Davis said that there was a dispute between Sridhar Babu and Kishan Reddy regarding a plot of land. It is learnt that the police have already detained Sudharshan.
