Telangana BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar today criticised the recently-ousted Health Minister of the state, Etala Rajender, for "spreading lies and doing drama in the name of self-respect".
The irate leader, reacting to
the comments Rajender has been making about Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and the TRS, alleged, "After Rajender's land-grabbing was exposed and he was removed from his position by the TRS high command, he has been trying to destabilise the government by telling lies. This is shameful. However, the people of his own constituency, Huzurabad, will teach him a lesson for spreading falsehoods against our government. They not only support our party but also the rule of our CM."
"No party activist in Huzurabad will even support Rajender any anger. Rajender's departure from our party will not in any way disadvantage us. We will still easily retain the seat. Rajender's
meetings with leaders of the Opposition also do not scare us as they will not affect our electoral prospects at all," he added.
Kamalakar also slammed the former minister for saying that he had "wrangled" a ministerial post without having participated in the Telangana agitation and clarified that he had indeed been part of the movement.
After the CM
expelled Rajender from the state Cabinet on land grab charges, there has suddenly been a flurry of political activity in Huzurabad, Rajender's constituency. The supporters of the TRS and those of Rajender have regularly been involved in verbal feuds, leading to a sort of divide within the party cadre in the region.
