The ACB special court, on Tuesday, extended the judicial remand of Ravi Suryaprakash Babu, an accused in the cash-for-bail scam of former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy, till 9 August.
The special court announced this decision when the ACB sleuths produced him in the court, following the expiry of his custody. Following the directions of the court, the officials shifted him back to Cherlapally Central Jail.
It may be recalled that suspended judge K Lakshmi Narasimha Rao had reportedly confessed to the ACB that a realtor, Ravi Suryaprakash Babu, from Banjara Hills had made an offer of Rs. 10 crore to get bail for Gali Janardhan Reddy. According to ACB, Babu played a crucial role in sanctioning bail to the jailed mining baron. (INN)
