Gade Venkat Reddy Defends Naidu, Ready To Join TDP
The Congress leader and former minister came out in support of the Andhra Pradesh CM, saying there was nothing wrong in buying lands in the vicinity of Amaravathi.
Congress leader and former minister Gade Venkat Reddy today came out in support of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, saying that there was nothing wrong in buying lands in the vicinity of Amaravathi.
Speaking to the media at his residence in Bapatla on Friday, Reddy said, "There is nothing wrong in buying lands in Amaravathi. If the lands taken over under the Land Acquisition Act from 29 villages for the construction of a new capital are not handed over to the government, we can raise an issue. But how can one find fault if lands are bought in the surrounding villages of Amaravathi?"
"It is the responsibility of those who are levelling charges against the TDP leaders to prove their allegations. If they have evidence, they can approach the High Court," Reddy added.
The former Congress minister also said that he was ready to join the TDP without any condition if Naidu extended him an invitation.
