AP New Capital: Pawan Kalyan Again Protests
The film star again tweeted on the capital land acquisition issue, opposing forcible acquisition of land on which three crops were being raised in a year.
Film star and Jana Sena Party founder Pawan Kalyan today once again requested Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu not to take the lands of the farmers forcibly and not to invoke the Land Acquisition Act in the efforts to acquire land for the new capital of the state Amaravati.
He also wanted the Chief Minister to exempt from acquisition, the lands of Undavalli, Penumaka, Bethapudi and other riverfront villages in the Guntur district.
Pawan Kalyan repeatedly tweeted on the capital land acquisition issue, expressing his opposition to forcible acquisition of land on which three crops were being raised in a year.
He tweeted: "Whichever be the country, whoever be the ruler, the price of development of one area or one group always results in environmental pollution, displacement and disgruntlement of another group."
He added that this was the very nature of civilization.
"But development with least damage possible lies in the wisdom of the rulers," he said.
Pawan Kalyan urged Naidu again to rethink the issue of land acquisition for the proposed capital.
It may be recalled that the Jana Sena chief had earlier threatened to launch a fast to safeguard the interests of the farmers.
