Four Sworn In As AP High Court Judges
Justice Harinath Nunnapalli, Justice Kiranmayi Mandava, Justice Sumathi Jagadam and Justice Nyapathi Vijay were sworn in today as additional judges of the court.
The swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed judges of the Andhra Pradesh High Court was held at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in Vijayawada today.
Justice Harinath Nunnapalli, Justice Kiranmayi Mandava, Justice Sumathi Jagadam and Justice Nyapathi Vijay were sworn in as additional judges of the court. President Droupadi Murmu had given her assent to the recent recommendations of the Supreme Court collegium to appoint them from the advocates' quota.
Governor Abdul Nazeer administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new judges.
Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, A P High Court Chief Justice Dheeraj Singh Thakur, ministers Taneti Vanitha and Ambati Rambabu, MLAs Vellampalli Srinivas and Malladi Vishnu, and several High Court judges were present on the occasion.
Prior to this, the AP High Court had only 27 judges though the sanctioned strength is 37. Two of them have now been transferred to other States, Justice Narender is coming to the AP High Court on transfer from Karnataka, and with these four newly appointed judges, the number of judges in the court has gone up to 30.
