Four persons died on the spot and a few others suffered grievous injuries in a wall collapse at Golnaka in Amberpet on Sunday afternoon.
The victims were identified as Sohail, 30; Krishna, 40; Vijayalakshmi, 60; and Suresh, 35.
The injured were rushed to the Osmania General Hospital.
The tragedy occurred when the wall of a function hall near Pearl Garden, Golnaka crossroads, crumbled and came crashing down.
Some vehicles, including two autos and bikes, that were parked along the wall were also damaged.
The Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams of the GHMC rushed to the spot and rescued the injured from the debris. Police teams also rushed to the spot.
GHMC Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin visited the victims and consoled them. He said that the kin of each of the victims would be paid Rs 2 lakh under the Apathbandhu scheme. He also said that he would approach Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao for more help for the kin of the diseased and for the injured.
