Former minister Sripathi Rajeswara Rao passed away in Hyderabad, on Sunday. He was 73.
Rajeswara Rao was suffering from a kidney ailment for the last few years, and breathed his last at the Nizam's Institute Of Medical Sciences on Sunday morning.
He was elected as MLA thrice, and had served as a minister in the state Cabinet for two terms.
He was an ardent fan of N T Rama Rao even before the latter launched the Telugu Desam Party. In fact, he formed the NTR Fans Association about 60 years ago, and even floated the NTR Yuva Sena after NTR's entry into politics.
He had made several representations to the Centre seeking a Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award, for NTR.
His funeral will take place at Bansilalpet on Monday. (INN)
