Former CM N Janardhan Reddy Passes Away

The Rajya Sabha member was 80, and is survived by his wife N Rajyalakshmi and 4 sons. He was undergoing treatment for neurological problems.

Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nedurumalli Janardhan Reddy passed away in Hyderabad on Friday morning following prolonged illness.

He was 80, and is survived by his wife N Rajyalakshmi and 4 sons.

He was undergoing treatment for neurology-related problems.

Janardhan Reddy, a sitting member of the Rajya Sabha, began his political career in the 1970s.

He was a member of the 12th, 13th and 14th Lok Sabhas, and was elected to the Rajya Sabha thrice.

He served as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from December 1990 to October 1992.

In September 2007, Reddy and his wife escaped an assassination attempt by the naxalites near Nellore.

Several senior leaders condoled the death of Reddy. (INN)
