Minister for Roads and Buildings B Dharmana Prasad Rao stated that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has to take a final decision on his resignation letter.
Talking to media persons at Ministers' quarters, Dharmana Prasad Rao said that he gave explanation to the Chief Minister over the CBI charges against him on Vanpic case last night. Stating that the CBI only slapped charges, he appealed to the party and people not to consider it as conviction. He also said that he never indulged in any crime and expressed confidence that he would come clean from the CBI charges.
Stating that CBI has no powers to question the Cabinet decisions, he said without getting Cabinet's nod, the government could not allot even an acre of land to any firm. “I have acted as per business rules and constitution and not committed any mistake. The court has to prove the charges against me,” he said. He also appealed to the government to cooperate with the CBI to complete its probe in all angles.
Stating that his resignation was pending with Chief Minister since 45 days, he said that notices were common for public servants in the government. (INN)
