Even as the Telangana State Cabinet meeting chaired by him approved the creation of 27 new districts on Dussehra, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today hinted a change in the total number of new districts.
During a press conference in Warangal, KCR said that plans were underway to increase the count to 31.
The Keshava Rao Committee submitted a report to the CM after taking objections and suggestions on formation of four new districts, Gadwal, Siricilla, Jangaon and Asifabad, into consideration.
The districts were delimited after taking in all considerations.
However, KCR did not provide any clarity on the final total. The State government is likely to issue a notification on Monday regarding this.
