Feuding In Karimnagar TRS, Corporator Resigns
30th Division Corporator Jayasri said MLA Gangula Kamalakar was creating all possible hurdles for the execution of developmental works in her constituency.
Internecine feuding in the ruling TRS in Karimnagar district burst into the open today with 30th Division Corporator Jayasri tendering her resignation to both her post and the party in protest against alleged harassment by MLA Gangula Kamalakar.
Talking to mediapersons later, the corporator, in tears, alleged that the MLA was obstructing developmental works in her ward due to animosity.
She said that Gangula was creating all possible hurdles for the execution of developmental works and welfare programs of the state government in her constituency.
She alleged that the MLA was also working against the party, giving more importance to her rival who was defeated at her hands.
She further alleged that the MLA bore a grudge against her because she belonged to the weaker sections, and was mentally torturing her through steps like returning her work estimates for developmental works demanding re-estimates.
Weeping before the mediapersons, Jayasri said that she had sent her resignation letter to Finance Minister Etela Rajender, Karimnagar MP G Vinod and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's office.
According to informed sources, there have been simmering differences between the corporator and the MLA for sometime now. They had had altercations on several issues in the past, and Jayasri had also filed a case against the MLA.
Meanwhile, the state government released Rs 100 crores to the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation for the execution of developmental works.
