A 21-year-old woman, identified as Komali, was today found dead at her residence in Chitrapuri Colony, Manikonda.
She was a content creator on YouTube.
Locals said Komali died by suicide by hanging herself in her room.
The local police inspector said that a case had been registered and an investigation was underway. A preliminary inquiry suggested that the incident might be linked to personal issues, he added.
According to the police, Komali and a man named Akhil, both originally from Visakhapatnam, knew each other. Komali had reportedly moved to Hyderabad for higher studies, while Akhil had come to the city for employment.
Akhil had earlier declined her proposal as he was in a relationship with another woman. Following this, Komali allegedly attempted suicide six months ago. Her mother later came to know about her relationship with Akhil. When Komali's mother asked Akhil to marry her, he refused.
The police said that Komali had called Akhil shortly before her death and again expressed her feelings, but he reportedly declined.
Investigators are examining whether there was any abetment.
A diary recovered from the scene reportedly mentions her distress.
The officials said that if any evidence of abetment or wrongdoing emerged, appropriate legal action would be taken.
The body was sent for post-mortem examination, and further investigation is in progress.
