Social media networking major Facebook today banned the accounts of controversial BJP MLA T Raja Singh, representing the Goshamahal Assembly constituency.
It said that it was banning Singh's Facebook account as he was posting messages provoking hatred and violence through it, violating its guidelines.
A representative of the Facebook said, "We have decided to ban the account of Raja Singh according to the rules of our organisation to not give any forums for information related to violence or provocation for violence. Our decision to remove the accounts of those who violate our rules will continue in future as well."
The organisation has also removed the Instagram account of Raja Singh.
The decision of Facebook came in the wake of allegations that it was showing political bias in the country.
Meanwhile, the MLA alleged that the Facebook management had removed his account succumbing to the pressure of the Congress, and demanded that Facebook to restore his account.
Singh however also thanked Facebook for removing all other accounts created in his name. He said that he was not aware of all those accounts operating in his name.
