Ex-MP G V Harsha Kumar Says He Was Happy In Jail
The former MP and Congress leader said that he was happy in jail although he was incarcerated for a long period of 48 days by the AP police on "false charges".
Former Amalapuram MP and Congress leader G V Harsha Kumar on Sunday said that he was happy in jail although he was incarcerated for a long period of 48 days by the Andhra Pradesh police on "false charges".
For the uninitiated, Kumar was put in prison by the AP police in December 2019 for a comment he had made that the government was deliberately delaying the retrieval of a boat (Royal Vashista) that had capsized in the Godavari in September 2019. He was released on bail on January 29, 2020.
Speaking to mediapersons, Kumar asked the YSR Congress Party leaders why they were not seeking a CBI inquiry into former MP Y S Vivekananda Reddy's murder case when they could imprison him just for a comment that the retrieval of a capisized boat was being delayed.
He also wondered what the DGP was doing about that murder case.
He alleged that CM Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was bent on taking revenge against rival politicians, and that his imprisonment on such a trivial issue was ample proof of that.
He claimed that he was not scared of the "false" cases being filed against him by the Chief Minister. He also alleged that Jagan, who had "looted" Rs 1 lakh crore in the past, was now trying to loot ten times more.
