Former minister Etala Rajender today escaped unhurt from a possible aircraft accident in New Delhi.
The special flight, which was to carry him and various other BJP leaders back to the state, developed a technical snag at the time of its take-off. He had reached the Delhi airport at 10:00 am this morning to catch the flight.
Fortunately, the pilot of the plane spotted the technical snag and stopped it from taking off moments before its scheduled departure time.
Rajender was accompanied by other BJP leaders, including Enugu Ravinder Reddy, Tula Uma, G Vivek Venkatswamy, and M Raghunandan Rao. Including them, a total of 184 passengers were on board when the incident took place.
Rajender had travelled to Delhi to
formally join the BJP in the presence of Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan and other leaders. Former MP Ramesh Rathod, Ravinder Reddy, Ashwathama Reddy, Tula Uma, leaders of the Osmania University Joint Action Committee also joined the saffron party along with him.
During the welcoming ceremony, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan welcomed Rajender into the BJP fold by offering the leader a primary membership and a party shawl. Telangana BJP in-charge Tarun Chugh also extended his greetings to the latter.
After formally joining the BJP, the former TRS leader met with the party's national president J P Nadda yesterday.
