The Telugu Desam Party (TDP), on Thursday, warned that it would launch an agitation to free the land belonging to the Government ENT hospital at Koti, if the government did not take immediate action and solve the land dispute.
The TDP Health Wing State president CL Venkat Rao said that land dispute had arisen after the former Hyderabad district collector Naveen Mittal had 'exceeded his limits and gifted away' the hospital land to private individuals.
The TDP leader alleged that Health Minister Danam Nagender was to be blamed for the encroachments going ahead unchecked, and suspected him to have some connection with the land-grabbers.
Venkat Rao said that the land was intended for the construction of doctors' quarters and laboratories and accused the government of remaining mute spectators of the injustice.
The TDP leader said that the government's inaction even after witnessing agitations over the encroachment of the ENT hospital land was a proof of its gross inefficiency.
The TDP leader demanded identification, and punishment of the encroachers and former Hyderabad collector Naveen Mittal over the allotments.
