Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, on Tuesday, directed chief secretary Minnie Mathew to follow up with NTPC to get the
promised additional power at the earliest.
Reviewing AP's electricity generation position, and the inflows into reservoirs, with the chief secretary and CMO officials, at the Secretariat, the chief minister directed officials to supply 7 hours of power to farmers "at any cost".
The officials informed the CM that the demand-supply gap was 30 MU till Monday, and 35 MU on Tuesday. They also informed him that a 7-hour free power supply to the agriculture sector is being maintained in all 9,295 agriculture feeders, except 13, in the state.
Moderate rains received in many parts of the state and improved inflows into the Tungabhadra river would ease the power situation, officials told the CM. (INN)
