The CBI Special Court, on Wednesday, extended the judicial remand of Koneru Prasad, the key accused in the APIIC-Emaar scam, to 2 February.
The court extended Koneru's custody after he was produced before it through video-linkage from the Chanchalguda Central Prison at the end of his custody.
Responding to Koneru's plea that jail officials have not shifted him to the Nizam's Institute Of Medical Sciences for providing better medical facilities despite the court's directions, the court said the jail officials would take a decision in this regard at an appropriate time, and that the court would not issue any fresh directions.
Earlier, Koneru had filed a petition in the court, seeking "better medical facilities" at a corporate hospital.
However, the CBI said that he could be provided treatment at the Nizam's Institute Of Medical Sciences, as it belives that it has all equipment on par with corporate hospitals.
Koneru had complained of severe back pain, and had alleged that the prison authorities were not providing him proper medical facilities. (INN)
