Hyderabad | 15th June 2018
The final Friday prayers of the Ramzan month took place peacefully today.

The police had made tight security arrangements in Old City, and City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar monitored the arrangements personally.

Kumar said that the police had made similar arrangements for the prayers tomorrow as well, by deploying 5,000 personnel for the prayers (tomorrow is Eid-ul-Fitr).

He said that security was enhanced at 600 mosques, and surveillance with CC cameras and mufti police was set up at 50 problematic mosques.

He also said that there would be traffic restrictions in the city tomorrow.

Meanwhile, several prominent people greeted the Muslims for Eid. Governor E S L Narasimhan extended his greetings to the Muslims on the culmination of the holy month of Ramzan saying, "The teachings of the Holy Quran have shaped the lives of people over the ages since the advent of the Prophet. The holy Ramzan month is a reminder to us of the purpose of life as ordained by God and that only through rigorous self-discipline is it possible to realize the eternal life."

City mayor B Rammohan and Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin, and GHMC commissioner B Janardhan Reddy too conveyed their best wishes to the citizens.
