ED Notices To Gangula Kamalakar's Family Members
Irregularities took place in the export of granite material to China by Swetha Granites and Swetha Agencies, owned by the family of the BC Welfare Minister.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a show-cause notice to Swetha Granites and Swetha Agencies, owned by the family members of BC Welfare Minister Gangula Kamalakar, for violating the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
According to ED officials, irregularities took place in the export of granite material to China by the granite companies. They had allegedly paid only Rs 3 crore to the government instead of around Rs 50 crore.
However, supporters of the minister claim that there is a political motive behind the issuance of the notices to the companies. They alleged that with the Assembly elections approaching in Telangana, the BJP is trying to remove obstacles for the Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay who is planning to contest in the election from the Karimnagar Assembly constituency, which is currently represented by Kamalakar.
